Big Five Personality Types
Big Five personality traits are five dimensions of personality that are used to describe a person's personality. The five factors are openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and emotional stability. Extraversion trait includes high amounts of emotional expressiveness, Agreeableness trait includes attributes such as affection and kindness, Conscientiousness feature is the high levels of thoughtfulness, emotional stability trait involves individuals that experience moodiness, sadness and anxiety and the openness feature includes imagination. Each characteristic listed above represents the distance between two extreme personality features.
The Results of My Assessment
I was very disappointed with my score on the Big Five Personality Test. I do not agree with most of the results that came back. For example, my low score on Extraversion displays a less outgoing personality, and one may think I am more comfortable working by myself. It also suggests that I am less involved in social activities and tend to be quiet and keep to myself. This is the furthest thing from the truth. If anyone were to ask my friends or family, they would agree that my extraversion score did not represent who I am. Conscientiousness score was also far from being correct. I scored low on this trait. Low conscientiousness is people that are flexible and spontaneous but can be perceived as sloppy and unreliable. I am not spontaneous nor am I sloppy or unreliable. I scored highly on agreeableness, displaying the ability to get along well with others. Individuals who score highly in agreeableness are more likable than those who have a lower measure. This one they got right. This is exactly who I am. The last of the Big Five personality traits is openness to experience. I scored moderate and felt I should be more on the high side. Openness to experience captures the extent to which an individual is original, has broad interests, and is willing to take risks as opposed to being narrow-minded and cautious.
