The past and recent advancements in technology have helped the human service field become much more efficient in how they are able to service clients and workers. Being able to file the records of clients or patients electronically makes all of their information available at the fingertips of human service workers, making the care they receive much faster paced. Before this technical advancement, client and patient records were kept on hard paper copies. This resulted in only one person having access in one office at a time, unless copies were made. Paper copies were also subject to being lost or damaged, and with all of this hassle in mind, software technology was created to store and share all information effectively. Over the course of research, I have found two software programs that can be used to track client and patient services. These two software names are TeleTrack and ClientTrack, and each has its own advantages and disadvantages.
TeleTrack offers many benefits to a human service organization such as being able to track numerous and various activities, business development, client and employee file management, and reporting capabilities. TeleTrack software can be used for calendar scheduling, tracking employees and clients, and emailing through the system. Some advantages of using TeleTrack are that it uses the most recent technology to keep private client and employee information secure. It can be integrated with QuickBooks to make storing payment and billing information of clients quick and easy to access and use. With the advantages of using TeleTrack, there are also disadvantages. Internet access and telephone use is required to use and retrieve information through this software.
The second software program, ClientTrack, is also a good option for human service organizations to use as it offers an easy to use interface. It promotes and applies efficient solutions to help with workflow, collaborates internally, simplifies data management, and overall it saves time. This allows for the human service professional’s to focus more on actually helping the client or patient, and less focus on waiting on the software to get them information. ClientTrack can be used for professional implementation, comprehensive analysis, and it also offers many approaches and solutions to nearly any situation. Advantages of ClientTrack are that it is accessible, offers powerful reporting functions, and is user friendly with a simple interface. As with any software, ClientTrack has its own disadvantages as well. ClientTrack requires internet access, and is not meant to be used in smaller organizations that only have one computer.
