Ideal Human Service Proposal
There are many forms of human service agencies that provide help to individuals, families, and communities. The key to developing such a program is to ensure that everyone involved is passionate about working with the projected target populations chosen. Together, Learning Team C has established that the ideal program of choice has a major focus on Mental Health while also addressing other community needs. The organization will present a vision, its mission, core values, utilize SMART in setting goals and objectives, select budgeting and management methods, and explore resource acquisition.
Vision
Vision statements of organizations provide a realistic future for the agency (Lewis, Lewis, & Packard, 2012).The vision is to have perceptions of the ideal program be as an organization that provides a high quality of services to those with mental health issues enabling them to live a fully functioning life. The program will be known for its innovative services and programs, highly qualified staff, highly skilled management, and for advocacy on behalf of those in need in the community. The organization will build networks and community partners enabling them to link clients to more resources and creating the ability to service varying needs extending beyond mental health.
The Agency’s Mission Statement
A Mission statement seeks to provide information as to what social needs the program will addresses, types of service, and the purpose of the agency’s existence (Lewis, Lewis, & Packard, 2012).The Mission of the proposed organization is to provide care and improve the quality of life for clients that suffer from mental health issues while also identifying and getting help to other local groups in need. The accomplishment of the mission will happen through the development and acquisition of resource, the establishment of community-based services, promoting community awareness through networking and creating community partners, and in linking clients to beneficial programs.
Values Statement for Strategic Planning
Values serve as criteria for designing an organization. Value statements are comments describing the desired principles of the agency (Lewis, Lewis, & Packard, 2012). These statements are used to guide work behavior and decision-making. All clients in the program will receive proper treatment for all issues. Staff will abide by the organization’s ethical standards, code of ethics, and exemplify professionalism. The agency will account for and use funds properly. Team C’s program will treat all clients with respect and compassion. Staff and consumers will be involved in organizational decision making. A copy of these statements will be discussed and provided during the hiring process, new employee orientations, staff meetings, and conferences. The posting of the organization’s values statements throughout the facility will remind workers and clients of the service expectations setting the bar. Staff will also have to complete compliance courses every six months to ensure that staff is in adherence to the vision, mission, and values of the agency.
