Preparing for Master's Degree can be quite a challenge and a stressful time in your life, especially if you wait till last minute. Whether you want to study business, law or medical, you will need plenty of time to sort and plan things out.
The first step is to decide what you want to pursue. I know it is not easy but before getting all worked up with all that, it is always a good idea to maintain and keep up your grades. Most of universities have a minimum GPA requirement, varying from 2.5 to 3.5. Study and ask for help. Try to avoid anything that will distract you.
It is now time to choose where you want to go from here. Keep your options opened. Do not just stick to one particular program. There are surely more than one thing that will interest you. An effective start is to list out pros and cons to different areas of study. Ask yourself what is it really that you are passionate about. Then narrow the list down and decide what best suits your needs.
Okay, once your mind is made up, you need to find out the standardized tests that are required. This is very crucial and you need to plan it carefully since some tests are not offered that often. You are going to need time to practice before taking to actual test too. To give you some idea, for business school, you need GMAT. For engineering, you need GRE. And if you are not a native English speaker, you will also need to take either TOEFL or IELTS. Check your program directly to find out. You may want to consult with British Council or IDP as they will provide you with many useful materials before the test. Joining their practice class is also another option. You do not want to waste time repeating the test all over again.
