After taking three sets of quizzes online, they all indicated that I have a slightly above average Emotional Quotient. The first test involved reading and determining the message of the facial expressions of different people of different genders. After completing all the ten questions, I managed to score six out of the possible ten. In the second test, it was all about the evaluation of personal emotions and how I react to different people and situations. The test showed that I am above average emotionally and can relate well in different environments. The third test was about how I react to other people’s actions and behavior in different environments. The results indicated that I am very observant of other people’s action and I skillfully try to help out in case of problems. Cumulatively, they all indicate that my EQ is above average.
I was slightly surprised by the results because I had always thought that I was good at understanding other people and could easily read their facial expressions. The results of the second test also surprised me because I expected to show a higher EQ. generally, without the use of the tests, I thought I was way above average only for the tests to show me otherwise.
The first survey on facial expressions and understanding gave me an insight into emotional intelligence. It made me understand that in order to understand the facial expression of a person, one needs to read all the face muscles in order to clearly differentiate. For example, the expression for happiness and flatting are almost the same. The second test made me understand that ED varies depending on not only on a person’s emotions but also location, age and the level of employment. This is because the above components were also included in evaluating my EQ. the third test helped me understand that a higher EQ equals to a good ability to handle problems and stress.
