Introduction:

The service order for the company Riordan Manufacturing will be an analysis of the HR department. Their need for a more up to date and an integrated system needs to be put into place. Said upgrades will need to be done in a timely fashion. The project will need to be finished with enough time so that the new system can be utilized in the second quarter of the fiscal year, November.

Scope:

Hugh McCauley, COO of Riordan Manufacturing, wants to bring the HR department into the 21st century. By talking with him first we will be able to find out what he wants this new system to accomplish. Others that may be involved in the initial as well as short individual meetings would be; Chief Financial Officer Dale Engel, Director of Human Resources Yvonne McMillan, and Chief Information Officer Maria Trinh. These will be the executives that we feel we can get the best information out of. The budget for the new system will be found out during the impending meetings.

The basic questionnaire that will be used during the interview process (Fig. 1) has sections designed to pick out the most vital of information and referenced later in the final report. The type of management systems need to be looked at as well. Working with the executives of Riordan Manufacturing points will need to be laid out in a fashion that the new system can implement and integrate the basic information that all employees will need to know throughout their tenure at the company.

Feasibility:

The feasibility of the project will be found during the interview process and will decide the budget of the project. Wanting to update an entire HR department has the potential to be an expensive update for any company and Riordan Manufacturing will be no different. Such costs that need to be discussed will
