Kirby Pines Retirement Community is one of the retirement communities that are popular in Memphis, TN. The health services organization’s main goal is to provide quality of care and services to residents that reside at this upscale retirement community. The health organization can achieve their goal by identifying the areas that need improvement, develop and implement a plan that will improve the community. It is vital for Kirby Pines to develop and implement a plan that will improve quality of services and care for residence.
The author will describe the authority structure of the plan’s implementation. The author will describe each role for implementing the plan. The author will identify who the performance activity outcomes are communicated to and who does the communicating. The author will describe who is responsible for overseeing data collection and preparing data reports. The author will describe how staff will be educated regarding the plan which covers how each staff member will be initially oriented to the plan and how each employee fits into the plan based on job responsibilities.
The author will describe what elements of the plan are annually evaluated for improvement and identify how to monitor the effect of changes implemented from the decision-making process. The author will describe the effect of external entities on the quality and performance measure of an organization’s decision-making processes. Lastly, the author will identify barriers that can interfere with the implementation or revision of quality measures.
Authority, structure, and organization
It is important for Kirby Pines describe and identify the authority structure to ensure the quality improvement plan is handled effectively. The organization has to gain an understanding about the strategic plans that are implemented and execute their roles to strengthen the organization. “This important stage consists of interrelating the various parts of the work. It involves coordinating the various job roles and responsibilities of yourself and other staff, of your unit and other units within the same organization, and of your unit with the broader community” (Waldron, Vsanthakumar, & Arulraj, 1996).
The board of directors oversees the direction of the organization and assigns the leadership roles to implement a plan. It is important for the board of directors to be educated about the quality of care and challenges that are taking place within their organization. The board of directors reinforces their strength in their organization by recruiting and overseeing various administrative structures at Kirby Pines. The board of directors will work with the executive leadership to set up procedures to collect data and develop a line of communication to understand the phases needed to increase the standard of care.
